The Mark Takai Transition Center

E Komo Mai!

Moving Mountains

The Ewa Makai Middle School Takai Transition Center (TTC) provides a space for students new to Hawaii or Ewa Makai to be introduced to the school and the culture of the Aloha State. The center offers a gathering place for returning and new students alike to meet, get to know each other, and have a safe space in school to unwind a bit. Students will also have the opportunity to bond and get to know one another by engaging in fun group activities and allows us to excel together.

Aloha Ambassador Program

Our student Aloha Ambassador Program ensures that every new student that joins the Ewa Makai Ohana will receive a personalized tour where they can learn the ins and outs of their new school while making new friends.

Throughout the school year Aloha Ambassadors have the opportunity to welcome new students, show them around campus, organize lunch bunches, and be a resource for new and existing students, all while developing leadership skills through community service projects, project management, and team building – they truly champion leading with kindness!

Here is a student-led tour of Ewa Makai Middle School. For more information and news about the school, please visit our website at https://www.ewamakai.org/.

  • Value the added richness and experience that students from varied cultural and social backgrounds bring to our school community.

  • Commit to providing high-quality supports through dedicated resources via the establishment and sustained operation of a transition center on our school campus.

  • Understand the challenges that are an inherent part of matriculating into a new and unfamiliar school environment.
