Aloha Students, Parents, and Community Members,

Ewa Makai is an amazing Middle School with much to offer our students in the community. Our vision of Empower, Explore, Excel Together is seen throughout the school campus. Our school has a strong academic core program, thriving arts program, developing STEAM programs, and progressive elective choices.

Our school implements standards-based instruction in all content areas focusing on literacy and numeracy to excel student achievement. School initiatives include AVID, Visible Learning, Social Emotional Learning, Google Classroom, Grade Level Teaming, Advisory, and Multi-Tiered Systems of Support.

Students are challenged with rigorous courses of study and social skills that prepare them for high school and college/career readiness. Elective programs include robotics, sports, Band, Polynesian music, media production, student leadership, theatre, aviation/engineering, culinary, artist competitions, esports/drones, wood shop, fashion design, Health Occupations, Spanish, Health/Wellness/PE, Dance, drama, coding, art, and yearbook. EMMS creates a student-centered culture with an importance on student voice and choice.

Our after-school program with UPLINK is on Monday and Friday afternoons. Students can sign up to benefit from our tutoring to keep up on their academics, and enjoy a variety of enrichment programs.

We welcome all of our stakeholders to get involved and join our Ohana. Please see opportunities to volunteer through our parent engagement events, School Community Council, Aloha Ambassador parents, and other events on campus that are highlighted on this website. We encourage you to be our partners in educating your child or children. I am looking forward to seeing you at our next event.

Mahalo,

Kim Sanders, Principal
