School Community Council
The School Community Council (SCC) plays a vital role in the education system in Hawaii. It is a forum through which members of school communities can contribute to improving student achievement and school performance. Its purpose is to advise Principals about matters that are intended to improve student well-being and enhance the accountability of the education system.
SCCs are able to make recommendations to their Principals on academic and financial matters. Principals, in turn, consult with SCCs on a variety of issues that affect student learning. SCCs involve the community in the discussion of education issues and help schools identify and respond to the educational needs of the community.
Participating in your SCC can be a rewarding experience and will give you the opportunity to make a difference here at Ewa Makai. If you are interested in finding out more about the SCC and the benefits of being an SCC volunteer member, please call Karen Myers, PCNC and SCC Chairperson, at 687-9479 or click here to to send Karen a message.
